For Guardian Film, I interviewed Vicky Knight, the star of Dirty God. Vicky was badly burnt in a house fire when she was 12, and has sustained abuse for her scars ever since. The film explores the stigma that surrounds scarring, both in cinematic culture and in society more broadly. It was a very moving to speak to Vicky, who had acted before making this film. The article made the cover of Guardian Film and Music in May 2019, and Vicky got to do a full photo shoot at The Guardian’s HQ.
