I spoke to Ryan McGinley, who was a bit of a teenage hero for us back in Sheffield, for The Guardian. He opened up about his experience of caring for his older brother, who died of AIDS when Ryan was a teenager, coming to terms with his own sexuality, and then “unleashing” in Greenwich Village.
